The schedules are out and the first Division 1 matches begin tonight (2nd Nov) at Bridgeport SC and the first Div 2 and Div 3 matches take place at VTTC on friday (4th Nov).

We have such an excellent entry this year that there will now be league of some sort at both venues every week.

The website should be updated over the next couple of days with luck so you will be able to check up on all the results etc as they come in very soon.

The Winter league has been delayed one week due to a number of factors a little out of our control.
This means that the first matches will take place on the following days.

Division 1: Week 1. Weds November 2nd Bridgeport SC

Division 2 & Division 3: Week 1. Fri Nov 4th Vancouver Table Tennis Club.

Apologies to you all for this delay but it has become unavoidable.

The league is once more growing in size and we have 3 divisions for the first time so the league schedule is a little busier this year again.

Please contact us or any other league committee members with any questions you may have regarding schedule.

One more final very important notice. Please make sure your BCTTA membership is up to date (starting September 2011), the league is of course a ranking points league and BCTTA membership is compulsory for all league players. Players without up to date membership will not be allowed to play league. On this we have to be very strict.

You may know that we are attempting to add a 3rd division this year to the league. If you are interested in entering this division please contact us a s soon as possible as this division will effect the scheduling with the venues somewhat. So as soon as we have the needed amount of teams (5 or so) to start the division, the sooner we can confirm the schedules with the venues.
Remember just like all divisions, all team mates must a be a paid up member of the BCTTA before being allowed to compete. Please tick the box next to all players names on the entry form which confirms this.

Vancouver Avengers Captain Dave Gatiss won the 2011 Summer League Division 1 Top 16 title on Finals night beating Pumpkin Pie`s Lester Lee in an incredibly close final match at VTTC this friday. All of Dave`s matches from quarter final onwards went to five sets against Kevin Mak, Andy Lui and Lester respectively but somehow he managed to hang on in all matches to take the title.

The Div 1 Consolation title went to Sasan Shariati (Vancouver Avengers) beating Sam Trat (All for One) in the final.
In the Division 2 Top 16 the Number 1 and 2 seeds Inoh Kim (One for All) and Tommy Vuong (VTTC 3) met in the final. Tommy taking the title in an exciting match.
Ben Woo from VTTC 4 beat Natasha Carr Harris from VTTC 3 in the Div 2 consolation event final. Ben saying how happy he was to win after stuggling in the group stages of the main draw.

This was the first time this event had been tried and the format seemed to be very popular with the players. Hopefully we will be able to repeat this event every summer.
A very big thanks goes out to VTTC our host who helped make the event go so smoothly and create such a good atmosphere for the Top 16.

AL Team took the Division 1 Summer legaue title finishing with a 5:4 victory over VTTC 2 on Wednesday night. The very solid team of Andy Lui
Dillon Tu, Michael Zhou, Xiang Sheng Meng comfortably took their 2nd summer championship title with a week to spare taking the $400 winners cheque.

2nd place cheque of $200 went Guildford based All for One team captained by Eric Calimoso and the third place cheque $100 went to Pumpkin Pie captained by Mike Yue

This year’s summer league was by far the biggest yet and featured many of the provices top players creating by far the most competitive summer league to date.
Many thanks to all competiters and to venues VTTC and Bridgeport SC for their continuing support of the league.

Captain Tommy Vuong’s team easiliy secured the Summer league division 2 title guarenteeing Division 1 play in next year’s summer league. The team consisted of Tommy Vuong(c)Richard Lei, Perry Ng, Neville Kwong, Natasha Carr-Harris, with Tommy, Richard and Neville securing a 6:3 against Rocks on Friday night.
